Koscheck Suffers Brocken Orbital Bone

During the title fight Saturday night between GSP and Koscheck at UFC 124, Josh Koscheck suffered a broken orbital bone. Through out the entire fight GSP landed hard left jabs to Koscheck's right eye causing it to swell and eventually close completely.

The pain was apparent between rounds when Koscheck kept pulling away from the ice bag his corner was applying to stop the swelling. The pain must have been brutal each time GSP landed the left jab, which he did at will through the entire 5 round fight.

The ring side doctor at the fights Saturday night came close to stopping the bout due to the injury, and Koscheck not being able to see out of his right eye. After the 3rd round the doctor gave Kos the chance to stop the fight, but he chose to press on and fight the remaining 2 rounds instead, even with the broken orbital bone.

Josh Kosheck was not able to fly home due to his injury's, and will drive to Boston to have surgery on Monday or Tuesday. There is no telling how long he will be out of commission, Fight Night MMA will post updates on his recovery as they come in.
